General presentation TransPerfect's Montreal-based office is looking for English-to-French translators with varying levels of experience (intermediate or senior) in banking and insurance . You will be responsible for the translat ion and bilingual proofreading of documents for a diverse range of clients . Job description Translate and revise high - visibility content within the banking and insurance sectors . Provide translations tailored to the French-Canadian market using, among other things, idiomatic expressions. Be a brand ambassador by becoming an extension of the client's brand within TransPerfect and maintaining brand consistency across all projects. Use and update translation memories and glossaries. Manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment. Keep project managers informed of the status of each project and meet internal and client deadlines. Perform administrative tasks as needed to support your work and the company's key performance indicators. Participate in the training of new team members and freelancers, and provide feedback, as needed. Act as a representative of the L inguistics Department, by engaging with clients to better understand their preferences, updating style guides, glossaries, instructions, and reference documents, and resolving issues as they arise . Make recommendations to your supervisor on ways to improve process es as part of TransPerfect's Montreal office commitment to continuous improvement. Skills required E xcellent communication skills (written and oral) and cultural knowledge in source and target languages (English and French in Canada). P articular attention to language quality and translation accuracy . E xcellent organizational skills and ability to stay focused on the tasks at hand. Ability to q uickly acquire new skills and adapt to vario us technologies and platforms . Ability to handle a multitude of projects and manage ever-changing priorities with poise , while accurately monitoring and meeting each deadline. P rofessionalism in any situation, especially under time constraints . P ositive attitude to wards change, customer-centric mindset, and proact ive approach to avoiding and solving problems. Required experience and skills Minimum a bachelor's degree or certificate in translation or equivalent. Native-level proficiency in Canadian French and fluent English. Experience in the translation and bilingual proofreading of documents related to banking and insurance. E xcellent command of MS Office Suite software and computer-aided translation tools. E xperience with other document sharing platforms is considered an asset. A ppropriate number of years of relevant experience depending on the level of the position: intermediate (from 2 to 4 years) or senior (5 years or more). Evolution First month: Get trained on TransPerfect's translation software and other applicable company platforms. Get to know banking and insurance clients and receive projects as a brand translator. Second month: Successfully complete the brand translator training while demonstrating a good understanding of the assigned brands. Start projects as a brand proofreader . Third month: Successfully complete the brand proofreader training and demonstrate the ability to work independently using all applicable files. Receive training on the various platforms of banking and insurance clients and begin direct communication with the assigned clients.
