Job Category Sales Compensation Overview The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards. Salary Range $52,600.00 - $86,800.00 Target Openings 1 What Is the Opportunity? The Carrier Consolidation (CarCon) Specialist is a key contributor within the Personal Insurance (PI) Field Sales organization, responsible for managing the end-to-end quote workflow through the CarCon dashboard. This role partners closely with the internal Field Sales team and external agency partners to optimize quote activity, improve close rates, and grow new business volume. Employees in this role bring strong product knowledge, consultative selling skills, and a commitment to delivering a best-in-class sales support. What Will You Do? Own the CarCon quote process from intake through bind, serving as the primary quoting resource for the PI Field Sales team, soliciting all necessary information to produce quotes, retain business, and close sales. Apply in-depth knowledge of Travelers PI products and underwriting guidelines to assess risk, price accounts, and recommend effective quote strategies. Collaborate with the internal Field Sales team to align quote activity with territory sales strategies and broader business objectives. Engage directly with agency partners to build rapport, facilitate quote requests, and support the development of consolidated carrier relationships. Utilize data and analytics within the CarCon dashboard to support pipeline management, performance tracking, and informed sales decisions, including leveraging automation and AI tools to optimize quote workflows and improve efficiency. Obtain and maintain Issue Authority for all Personal Insurance lines of business, as well as required resident and non-resident State P&C licenses. Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of quote and account activity in accordance with defined guidelines and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have? Bachelor's degree in business, sales, or a related field. Two or more years of experience in customer service, inside sales, retention, or a related insurance role. General proficiency in Travelers PI products, underwriting guidelines, and P&C marketplace knowledge. Strong consultative selling skills, including active listening, objection handling, and the ability to clearly articulate product features and value. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with agency partners and internal stakeholders, representing Travelers in a professional and positive manner. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information effectively to diverse audiences with empathy and professionalism. Travelers is committed to a positive customer experience that exceeds expectations and to meeting all compliance requirements. As a result, Travelers requires that all employees in this position obtain and maintain an insurance license (either Property and Casualty or Personal Lines) in the employee's resident state. In addition, a nonresident license is required for each state in which you will be conducting business. Each state will evaluate any/all criminal and financial background incidents to determine license eligibility. Applicants with a felony conviction or pending/unresolved court cases may not qualify for licenses in all required states. It is your responsibility to provide any/all required court documents needed to obtain your license(s). Travelers will not pay for and/or reimburse the cost or time needed to obtain any documents necessary to complete licensing applications. Failure to pass the licensing exam within two attempts as well as the inability to obtain any required licenses within six (6) months from date of hire may result in termination of employment. What is a Must Have? High school diploma or GED. One or more years of experience in customer service, inside sales, retention, or a related role.
