This role is based in either Townsville or Cairns, so we are looking for candidates open to relocating to North Queensland to enjoy a tropical lifestyle alongside meaningful project work. How you'll make a difference: Ecological impact assessment and offsetting for a range of projects and scale, and supporting internal clients with delivering the ecological requirements within multi-disciplinary tenders and projects Working independently, or with a team of ecologists, in the planning, delivery and management of ecology surveys; analysis and evaluation of results, impact assessments, and the design and implementation of successful mitigation strategies Provide excellent client service through risk-based strategic advice and high-quality technical reporting Identify and implement efficiencies and digital solutions to collaborate and work smarter Support the team's strategic growth, technical excellence, and innovation in ecological assessments. Assisting with project management, including the technical and financial performance of ecological projects. The qualities that help you thrive: The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered. Demonstrated technical knowledge in flora, fauna and ecological communities in Queensland (6+ years), with experience in NSW or NT advantageous. Ability to lead project delivery, engage with clients, and mentor a high-performing team across field and office-based work. Experience in environmental approval processes and impact assessment reporting. Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related field. Proficiency with GIS tools such as ESRI ArcGIS Pro advantageous. Willingness to undertake fieldwork across Queensland, with a valid Class C driver's license and 4WD experience.
