Responsibilities
- What You Will Bring to ChargePoint
- Collaborate closely with product management, program managers, and engineering managers in a cross-functional environment to define technical requirements and develop robust software designs.
- Develop products from minimum viability to world-scale maturity in a fast-paced environment, ensuring all technical requirements are fully understood and implementation matches expectations.
- Serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert to the technical and developer community.
- Promote engineering best practices across the team, including AI-first development methodologies and responsible AI usage.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building back-end software.
- Strong foundation in CS fundamentals, including data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
- Working experience with modern software architecture components (e.g., Distributed Systems, Containerization, Microservices).
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) and popular databases.
- Solid understanding of an API-first approach, continuous integration (CI) applications, and monitoring/tracing tools.
- Familiarity with gRPC, Kubernetes, NoSQL, GraphQL, and Prometheus is a plus.
- AI-First & Generative AI Skills:
- Demonstrated habit of utilizing AI-assisted tooling (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) for coding, debugging, code review, and documentation.
- Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, etc.) to build AI-powered features, including prompt design, context management, and output parsing.
- Proficiency in prompt engineering (system prompts, few-shot examples, chain-of-thought) and understanding of token budgeting, grounding, and hallucination mitigation.
- Ability to design AI-native APIs (structured outputs, tool/function definitions) and actively utilize Generative AI throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
