Within and created at the same time as CUNY SPS, the Office of Innovative Learning Solutions (ILS) designs custom workplace learning programs to help organizations achieve their goals. We are experts in research-based learning practices, online as well as in-classroom curriculum development and implementation. We are uniquely positioned to respond to organizational learning needs and support change management initiatives swiftly and effectively. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The Academy for Community Behavioral Health equips NYC non-profit care providers to proactively and compassionately address behavioral health. CUNY SPS launched the Academy in Spring 2021 with support from the Mayor's Office for Economic Opportunity (NYC Opportunity) and Mayor's Office of Community Mental Health (OCMH). We prioritize capacity building with NYC communities most impacted by health and socioeconomic inequities, including those most impacted by COVID-19. Academy services include: free learning programs for NYC non-profit social service and behavioral health providers; pilot programs that use participatory methods to advance community-centered care models and expand knowledge about what works; and more. We aim to expand and deepen these services while reaching at least 2,500 learners each fiscal year. The Academy relies on a multidisciplinary team and approach, drawing on advances in adult learning, global and community mental health, implementation science, contemplative education, and other fields, as well as direct experience in NYC non-profit care settings. ROLE DESCRIPTION Reporting to the Academy Director, the Deputy Program Director will provide operational and strategic leadership to advance the Academy's vision, mission, values, and goals. This position will strengthen internal ways of working, public Academy programs, and infrastructure and relationships essential to both. This newly created role will help the Academy build on successes of its first 4.5 years and enhance its capacity to serve NYC's non-profit care providers and their communities. We seek experienced candidates who skillfully balance self-directed and highly collaborative work; lead with compassion; and adapt to meet challenges and opportunities effectively. This role may evolve to meet program needs and reflect the skills and contributions of the selected candidate. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of operational excellence, leadership, and community behavioral health expertise, including: Experience developing, delivering, and managing high quality learning and capacity building programs in behavioral health, with experience in curriculum development. A compelling vision for how the Academy can improve community behavioral health, build capacity, and advance equity. This should include constructive ideas, drawing from evidence and experience, about the role social service providers can play. This is a full-time role with benefits.
