About the role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Operations Manager to lead our aerospace maintenance workshops responsible for the repair, servicing, and refurbishment of aircraft cargo containers (ULDs), mealcarts, and related equipment. Reporting to the Accountable Manager , the Operations Manager will oversee all technical, operational, and quality aspects of workshop activities while ensuring full compliance with Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily workshop operations to ensure all maintenance, repair, and inspection activities are carried out to the highest engineering and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with CAAS, FAA, and company procedures across all maintenance and documentation processes.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure adherence to aviation maintenance best practices.
- Supervise, guide, and develop workshop technicians, welders, and supervisors through continuous training and competency programs.
- Ensure the availability, currency, and proper use of all technical data, including Component Maintenance Manuals and Service Bulletins.
- Plan and coordinate engineering and technical support activities to meet production targets and turnaround time (TAT) requirements.
- Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and safe operation of workshop tools, test equipment, and machinery.
- Plan and procure spare parts, consumables, and tools in advance to support ongoing repair programs.
- Ensure that only approved and traceable parts are used in repair and assembly processes.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection documentation in accordance with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Manage bonded stores, ensuring proper storage, labelling, and control of parts, including temperature- and shelf-life-sensitive materials.
- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring that all workshop activities comply with company, landlord, and regulatory safety requirements.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and auditors to ensure operational transparency, service quality, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct capability studies for new repair products and oversee readiness in terms of qualified personnel, tooling, and facilities.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Aerospace / Mechanical Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in aerospace maintenance operations, preferably in cargo or ground support equipment (ULDs, meal carts, GSE).
- Strong knowledge of CAAS and FAA maintenance and safety regulations.
- Proven track record in leading workshop teams and managing maintenance operations.
- Experience in calibration control, inventory management, and quality assurance systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
