We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Materials Lab Technician to join our civil and environmental consulting team. This role supports geotechnical, construction materials, and environmental projects by performing laboratory testing on soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and related construction materials. Your Responsibilities as an Environmental Technician 1: Conduct standardized testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt following ASTM, AASHTO, and project specifications. Perform tests such as Proctor compaction, Atterberg limits, grain size analysis, moisture content, permeability, concrete compressive strength, and asphalt extraction/gradation. Prepare soil and material samples for testing. Record test results with high accuracy and maintain detailed logs. Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and maintained according to QA/QC protocols. Follow company and industry safety protocols and maintain a clean lab environment. Coordinate with project engineers and field technicians to prioritize test scheduling. Assist with field sampling or inspections as needed. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED 1+ years of experience in a construction materials or geotechnical testing lab Familiarity with ASTM/AASHTO testing standards Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures. Basic computer skills, including Excel and lab data systems.
