The instructor ensures courses are delivered according to current AHA guidelines and Training Center standards. This position works closely with the AHA Training Center Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, and successful implementation of all AHA educational programs. Responsibilities include assisting with course logistics, equipment management, instructor support, and ensuring compliance with AHA and organizational policies. The role requires strong teaching ability, clinical knowledge, and the ability to engage learners in hands-on resuscitation training. Essential Functions : Instruction and Education Delivery - Deliver instructor-led training for AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS courses to healthcare providers and community participants. - Facilitate hands-on skills practice, simulation scenarios, and testing stations according to AHA curriculum standards. - Evaluate student competency through written exams, performance checklists, and skills testing. - Provide constructive feedback and coaching to ensure learner competency and confidence in resuscitation practices. - Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and learner needs. (40%) Course Coordination and Training Center Support - Work in conjunction with the AHA Training Center Coordinator to support the planning and coordination of scheduled AHA courses. - Assist with course preparation, classroom setup, and coordination of educational materials and resources. - Support training center operations including roster completion, certification documentation, and course record maintenance. - Participate in instructor collaboration, feedback, and continuous improvement of resuscitation education programs. - Assist with orientation or mentorship of new instructors when needed. (25%) Equipment and Resource Management - Prepare and maintain training equipment including manikins, AED trainers, airway devices, and simulation equipment. - Ensure equipment is cleaned, functional, and ready for each training session. - Communicate equipment or supply needs to leadership to ensure adequate inventory. Required Work Experience : 1-3 years experience in healthcare, emergency response, or clinical education. Required 1-3 years previous teaching or instructional experience.
