About the role
QuantWare is building the world's most powerful quantum processors to solve humanity's greatest challenges. We do this with our unique VIO™ technology, the only QPU architecture that breaks the hardware barriers that have held quantum computing back, unlocking the path to MegaQubit quantum processors. With VIO, we are paving the way for the hyper-scale quantum computers that will change the world. And delivering on that vision demands people who don't shy away from tackling the hardest challenges of our time. That's where you come in! As a Semiconductor Equipment Engineer , you will play a critical role in scaling our manufacturing capabilities. Working in a small, high-ownership team, your mission is to bring new tools online fast and keep them running with exceptional reliability. These tools range from high-vacuum nanofabrication tools (lithography, etching, deposition), to dilution refrigerators, and from advanced characterization equipment to lab equipment.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end installations with OEMs: planning, FAT/SAT, and through IQ/OQ to get capacity qualified and in production as early as possible
- Own preventive maintenance: define and continuously optimize PM schedules, spares, and documentation to maximize uptime
- Drive corrective maintenance: rapid troubleshooting, deep root-cause analysis, permanent corrective actions, and clear reporting
- Build the new fab: support the commissioning of our state-of-the-art cleanroom and nanofab line-part of our multi-million investment in scaling manufacturing
- Tight process-equipment alignment: work closely with Process Engineering to ensure equipment capabilities, process requirements and factory operations stay in lock-step
- Co-own tool sourcing with Process Engineering, Procurement and R&D: translate process needs into clear tool specs, align with site/facility requirements, and build a process-equipment roadmap
- Own facilities interfaces once operational: gas, vacuum, cryogenic, electrical, cooling water, chemical and exhaust systems tied to your tools; coordinate upgrades as the cleanroom ramps
- Your Profile
- 4+ years of hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and debugging advanced equipment (ideally in commercial cleanrooms)
- Experience with high-vacuum tools, ideally semiconductor nanofabrication equipment
- Familiarity with cryogenic or dilution refrigerator systems is a strong plus
- Relevant technical degree or equivalent background in for example instrumentation/experimental physics, electrical engineering, mechatronics
- Systematic problem solver with strong planning and coordination skills
- Comfortable working under time pressure in a fast-moving startup environment
- Self-driven, team-oriented, and able to operate with minimal oversight and high ownership
