- This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) in accordance with the Clery Act. This position is required to report Clery qualifying crimes to the Department of Public Safety and complete annual training about your reporting responsibilities under the law.

The Assistant Athletic Trainer works under the supervision of the head athletic trainer and supervises the care of student athletes competing in the University's athletic program. The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries within the University's athletics program. Evaluates athletic injuries and determines appropriate courses of treatment and therapies to encourage recovery. Treats athletic injuries with various therapies including the use of electrical modalities, thermal modalities, hydrotherapy, and manual therapies. Provides education to student athletes including preventative education, injury education, and instruction in proper technique for rehabilitative exercises. Performs athletic training administrative duties. Assists with coordination, scheduling, and provision of medical coverage for home and away competitions. Documents and records student athlete injuries and treatment provided. Works with physicians and other allied health professionals to deliver care to student athletes. Follows up on specified therapies. Additional related duties as assigned.
