We're looking for an Intermediate Coalition and Joint Interoperability System Engineer to join our organization in Ottawa, Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining systems that enable seamless communication and data exchange across coalition and joint military operations. This role requires on-site work at our Ottawa office, with flexibility to work remotely when necessary. Occasional travel may be required to support customer field trials. Design and implement coalition and joint interoperability system architectures that meet operational requirements and international standards Conduct systems integration testing and validation to ensure interoperability across multiple platforms and stakeholders Analyze system requirements and translate them into technical specifications and implementation plans Collaborate with coalition partners and internal teams to identify interoperability challenges and develop solutions Document system designs, configurations, and integration procedures with clarity and precision Monitor system performance and recommend optimizations to enhance efficiency and reliability Participate in interoperability assessments and compliance reviews against established standards and protocols Support the development and maintenance of interoperability frameworks and reference architectures Review and resolve technical issues related to coalition system integration and data exchange Stay current with emerging interoperability standards, technologies, and best practices in joint operations environments Ability to perform systems administrator duties including independently diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving complex computer information system and network issues in virtualized environments. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, or applicable scientific discipline is required. 3+years of professional experience in systems engineering, with a focus on interoperability or coalition systems Demonstrated expertise in systems integration, architecture design, and interoperability frameworks Strong knowledge of joint operations systems and coalition command and control environments Proficiency with systems modeling tools and testing methodologies Experience with network protocols, data exchange standards, and integration platforms Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex technical challenges Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail Experience with systems engineering processes and lifecycle management Preferred: Familiarity with interoperability standards and compliance requirements in coalition environments Preferred: Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models Preferred: Solid understanding of military or defense systems operations and requirements Preferred: Experience with specific coalition systems platforms or joint interoperability frameworks Preferred: Knowledge of Canadian defense systems and NATO interoperability standards Ability to obtain or maintain a security clearance as required by the role Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse technical and operational teams It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada. The hiring range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 CAD annual.
