We are looking for a Senior Counsel - Litigation & Employment to join our legal team and contribute to our mission of making a meaningful impact on preventative health. You will manage the company's full litigation portfolio and serve as the go-to legal partner for our People & Culture team. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will lead strategy across commercial disputes, medical malpractice claims, and employment matters while proactively reducing risk across a fast-scaling, multi-jurisdictional healthcare business. This is a role suited to someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, can shift between strategic counseling and hands-on execution, and communicates legal concepts in plain language to clinical and business leaders. This role does not provide visa sponsorship. Responsibilities

  • Litigation Management
  • Own and manage Prenuvo's litigation and pre-litigation docket, including commercial disputes, medical malpractice claims, employment-related claims, and other general litigation matters.
  • Direct outside counsel strategy across multiple jurisdictions; manage discovery, witness preparation, settlement evaluation, and trial readiness.
  • Conduct and manage internal investigations related to legal and compliance issues related to pending and threatened litigation.
  • Oversee litigation holds, document preservation, and e-discovery processes.
  • Track and report on litigation matters, exposure, and budgets to the General Counsel.
  • Proactive Risk Management
  • Partner with operations teams to identify liability risks in service delivery and implement process improvements that reduce exposure.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting Prenuvo's business across the US, Canada, UK, and Australia.
  • Develop and deliver training for managers and clinical staff on litigation prevention and regulatory compliance topics.
  • Employment Law & People Advisory
  • Serve as primary legal advisor to the People & Culture team on employee relations, including performance management, workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, accommodation requests, and separations.
  • Draft, review, and update employment policies and handbooks to align with applicable laws across all jurisdictions where Prenuvo operates.
  • Advise on employment-related risk in connection with workforce changes, reductions, and organizational restructuring.
  • General
  • Manage relationships with outside counsel.
  • Contribute to building the legal team's processes and infrastructure to support a high-growth healthcare company.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school (or equivalent legal qualification from a jurisdiction where Prenuvo operates) and active bar membership in good standing in at least one US state.
  • 7+ years of legal experience in litigation (healthcare liability experience required) and employment law, with a mix of law firm and in-house experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing outside counsel, including strategy, budget, and performance.
  • Experience advising on employee relations matters, conducting or overseeing workplace investigations, and drafting employment policies.
  • Sound judgment in assessing risk and the ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to translate legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders
