About the role

CAE is a global leader in civil aviation, defence, and security training. In Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, CAE is the prime contractor for the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) and the Future Aircrew Training (FACT) programs, delivering integrated ground school, simulator, and live flight training for military pilot development. The Aircraft Technician performs aircraft servicing and maintenance activities to support safe and efficient operations. Schedule & Compensation: Monday to Friday (Day: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM; Evening: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM) Minimum 40 hours per week Pay: Up to $45.06/hour Relocation support available

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, repair, and test aircraft systems
  • Remove and replace line replaceable units (LRUs) and components
  • Perform specialty work in maintenance shops as required
  • Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and diagrams
  • Maintain required tools and equipment
  • Order aircraft spare parts and materials
  • Conduct flight line servicing operations
  • Provide updates and debriefs to Team Lead as required
  • Perform workplace inspections and maintain clean work areas
  • Assume Desk Controller duties as required

Requirements

  • Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) Diploma or equivalent (e.g., Canadian Forces AVN Technician)
  • Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License (M or combined M1/M2)
  • Minimum 4 years of aircraft-related experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in 1st and 2nd line maintenance activities
  • Knowledge of aerospace design and maintenance practices
  • Ability to work assigned shifts and occasional travel
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Eligibility to obtain Reliability Security Clearance (Government of Canada)
  • Eligibility to work in Canada (citizen, permanent resident, or valid work permit)
  • Ability to meet Controlled Goods Directorate (CGD) requirements and US ITAR compliance
  • Experience in life cycle support activities
