Electrical Engineer III / Senior Development Engineer

Requirements

• Prior medical device experience is required, as is demonstrated expertise in verification testing. Strong familiarity with IEC 60601 testing is essential to the role.
• Essential functions:
• Performs engineering validation testing / electrical testing
• Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g. Jama / DOORS)
• Engineering report writing
• Quantitative data analysis
• Test method development / validation
• Strong familiarity with Excel and Minitab
• Use of multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering iron
• Prototyping skills a plus, as are rudimentary programming skills
• Prior medical device experience required
• Previous IEC 60601 testing experience is critical
• Working conditions:
• Job is on site; based in North Haven, CT / 40-50 hours per week
• Reports to Principal engineer
• Standard office setting, surgical lab, operating room, pilot lab, external research organizations, supplier visits
• Travel may be required, but expected to be ?10%

Job Description: Senior Development Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer A R&D team located in North Haven, CT is seeking a Senior Development Engineer / Electrical Engineer to perform hands-on electrical testing and development activities on a surgical robotic system. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or Biomedical Engineering with a focus on instrumentation) is required. Master's degree is a plus.
