This position is for a Powered Support Systems Mechanic Supervisor, Position Description Number D0795000, located in 116th Maintenance Squadron, Robins AFB, GA . This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires Georgia Air National Guard Membership. Military Grades: E6 - E7 Compatible Military Assignments: AFSC: 2AXXX General Experience: Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports. Specialized Experience: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. Physical Effort: Physical effort involves frequent bending, reaching, crouching, standing, and arm movement. Sometimes must work in awkward positions or cramped areas. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to about 40 pounds. Lifts heavier items using jacks, hoist, or helpers. Working Conditions: May work inside or outside. Inside, is frequently exposed to drafts, changing temperature, and loud noise. Outside, may work in bad weather, in rain or snow, or in wet or icy areas. Both inside and outside, is frequently exposed to irritation or discomfort from dust, heat, fumes, and hard damp floors or surfaces.
