Description of Work The Preceptor is a member of the Staff Development Department and is assigned a Residential Division staff caseload. The Preceptor assists with New Employee Orientation and maintaining documentation on their Division's new staff for their first year of employment. The Preceptor is expected to become a Certified CPR Instructor and also conducts Golf Cart, Van and Minibus training. This position serves as a campus Epic/eMerge Certified Credential Trainer, which is responsible for training Health Care Technician on the use of EHR/Electronic Health Record. Additional duties also include maintaining employee training records, attending meetings, in-servicing staff on policies during New Employee Orientation, and maintaining good working relationships with assigned Division Staff including Management Teams. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences This is an anticipated vacancy. Sala ry Range: $34,066.00 - $51,099.00 Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Knowledge of working with people with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and/or Mental Illness. Experience working in Epic or other Electronic Health Record. Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in written form. Demonstrated ability to follow lesson plans and PowerPoint. Proficient using a computer/laptop. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to be able to stoop, bend, walk, run short distances and climb stairs. Ability to pass CPI training requirements. Work Hours: 7:00 AM-4:00 PM, however, hours may be flexible depending on training needs. Occasional work hours on second and third shift are required to complete new employee observations, check-ins, and to facilitate other trainings as assigned. High school or General Educational Development diploma and two years of closely related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Condition for Continued Employment As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. As required by the Department of Public Safety, must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards Counsel. As applicable, North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
