- Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
- Interacts compassionately and effectively with patients providing a Five Star experience by reducing anxieties; provides explanations of procedures and equipment, and answers questions
- Trains Mammography Technologists in Breast Ultrasound and in the areas of DEXA and Mammography.
- Assists radiologist and nurses in procedures, to include: Breast localizations, Stereotactic Biopsy, Ultrasound Guided Core Biopsy, Contrast-enhanced spectral mammography (CESM) and Dutograms, as needed: timeout, holding pressure over biopsy site, explain post procedure instructions, apply pressure dressing over biopsy site.
- Performs bone density screening as assigned.
- Presents exams to radiologists using the appropriate medical terminology.
- Changes exams in EPIC as requested by the radiologist; obtains new order, if needed.
- Completes all required billing and documentation accurately and timely in EHR and PACS systems.
- Completes Quality Control/Quality Assurance daily, weekly, and Monthly for mammography equipment, DEXA equipment, biopsy equipment and Ultrasound equipment.
- Escorts patient from sub-wait area to procedure room.
- Explains procedure to patient prior to beginning exam.
- Obtains appropriate medical history required (patient and family) before procedure is started.
- Explains comparative film review and obtains patient film release signature, as appropriate.
- Maintains cleanliness of all radiology equipment and rooms.
- Maintains current and adequate CEUs per Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and state regulatory requirements and remains proficient in using diagnostic equipment.
- Follows department timekeeping procedures; obtains prior authorization for any overtime.
- Works at main campus and satellite facilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
