Make Your Mark at Prysmian - Join Us Work Location: Rocky Mount, NC Work Schedule: weekdays from 3pm to 11pm Position Summary Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this position is responsible for leadership and coordination of all activities on their assigned shift(s). The position requires a strong ability to coach and mentor teams while assuring the efficient utilization of a talented workforce and equipment. The position is a coach to associates to coordinate production to meet safety, quality, workflow, manning, material handling, and maintenance goals as necessary to ensure efficient continuous production. Lean Manufacturing techniques will be used to drive continuous improvement. The Shift Supervisor will be required to be present at shift change meetings. The end goal is to develop high performing, self-directed work teams within manufacturing cells. Team Overview and Job Responsibilities Develop and implement plans that execute the daily production schedule Hold the organization accountable for hitting daily goals and upholding quality/ operational standards Initiate and participate in plant continuous improvement projects Lead point of contact for industrial relations issues and business communication. Improve the technical and decision-making capabilities of the Associates Use plant data analysis tools for performance metric tracking, reporting, and problem solving. Prepare and deliver daily turnover meetings. Conduct plant appearance and safety audits Ensure all product meets requirements as defined by the Plant's Quality Management Systems Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines Other duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management Who are we looking for? HS Diploma or equivalent - required. BS Degree - preferred. At least three (3) years of management experience in a manufacturing environment - required. Management experience in the optical fiber cabling industry - preferred. Must be quality and customer focused, versatile and enjoys interaction with customers and other visitors. Motivated Team Player - participate and contribute to a constructive working environment. Demonstrate administrative aptitude, time management skills, and ability to multi-task. Capable of remaining calm & professional when dealing with stressful circumstances. Able to work a variety of work schedules, including holiday and weekend emergency coverage.
