Responsibilities
- You'll spot what needs to happen before being asked, find smarter ways to manage information and workflow, and bring real judgement to a role where discretion and trust are non-negotiable.
Requirements
- You'll have proven experience supporting senior leaders in a fast-paced environment, with the organisational skills to manage competing priorities without dropping the ball. Strong written and verbal communication is essential - you'll be representing two Directors, so the standard is high.
- Handling sensitive and confidential information with care comes naturally to you. And crucially, you'll be someone who leans into new technology rather than away from it - keen to explore how AI and digital tools can make your work, and the people you support, sharper and more effective.
- Character is important to us. Across the whole of Scottish Water, we look for people who are Bold, Responsible, Inspiring and Caring . (And you can expect these characteristics to make an appearance in your interview with us.)
- Looking out for you
- While the work we do is important, we know it's not the only thing that matters. That's why we make sure you have everything you need to find a good work-life balance.
- You'll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take paid time off to volunteer in your community.
- When it comes to major life events we have family-friendly policies around adoption, maternity, and parental leave. And for the everyday? We embrace flexible working.
- For your future, there's our pension (the 'know-what-you'll-get-when-you-retire' kind), as well as life assurance.
- As for some nice extras? You can expect an annual company bonus. Not to mention access to SW Splash - handy rewards that can save you money on holidays, bills, and shopping.
- The not-so-small print
- This role will be a Grade 5. If you're new to Scottish Water, you'll join us on a starting salary of £33,951. Performance-driven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of £39,991.
- If you're interested in this role - or know someone else who might be - we'll be accepting applications until midnight on 5th June 2026.
- We operate Balanced Hybrid working at Scottish Water and we encourage people to work half their time in a Scottish Water location.
- A few final things worth knowing...
Benefits
Additional Information
Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland. It's not every job where you make a difference for the people of Scotland. But it's what's behind every job here. Our work keeps Scotland's water flowing, from source to tap - and from sink to sea. Join us as an Executive Assistant supporting our Director of Water and Director of Customer Service, two members of our Executive Leadership Team, at the heart of how Scottish Water is run. This isn't a traditional PA role. We're looking for someone who operates as a genuine partner to senior leaders - someone who thinks ahead, removes friction, and helps two busy Directors and their teams perform at their best. You'll be organised, yes, but more importantly you'll be proactive, commercially aware, and always looking for a better way to do things. That includes how you use technology. We want someone who embraces AI tools and modern ways of working - not just proficient in Microsoft Office, but actively curious about what tools like Microsoft Copilot can do to save time, improve outputs, and make the people around you more effective. You'll work on a hybrid basis across our Edinburgh office at Fairmilehead and our Head Office in Stepps near Glasgow.
