The primary purpose of this position is to conduct interviews with Family Advocacy Program clients, administer assessment questionnaires, provide training to individuals at risk for family maltreatment and assist staff members in the research and evaluation of the Family Advocacy Program, ensure compliance with Department of Defense Directives and Department of Air Force. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience: I have, or within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement will have, one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GS 04), pay band (NK-01), or equivalent (pay schedule, pay band, etc). Specialized experience is: Knowledge in using word processing automation software functions to support office operations and produce avariety of textual documents, such as letters, reports, memos, and form letters. The ability to perform program administration and data management functions to ensure effective operation of a program. OR EDUCATION: Have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree that (a) included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of subjects directly related to the work of the position; (b) included a major in social behavior, human behavior, or health care or; (c) was supplemented by specialized experience as described above for GS-4. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Have equivalent combinations of successfully completed post high school education and experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of FAP requirements and procedures and basic methods and techniques of counseling. 2. Knowledge in developing an education curriculum with learning objectives and outcomes. 3. Skill in using word processing automation software functions to support office operations and produce a variety of textual documents, such as letters, reports, memos, and form letters. 4. Skill in tactfully interviewing clients coming to the FAP office. 5. Ability to work well with others in a team setting; and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
