About the role

This position in located in the Office of Research Engineering (RE), Vehicle Recorder Division. The incumbent will serve as the Acting Chief for the Gold Branch exercising managerial, supervisory, and technical responsibility for the branch's investigative work and development of recorder safety recommendations. To qualify for this position, you must meet both the Educational Requirements and the Specialized Experience as described below. For the GS-15 grade level: One year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience managing the production of recorder laboratory factual, analysis, and study reports from creation through reviewing, editing, and proofreading. Experience resolving technical challenges in extraction of recorded data, audio, or video when standard methods are not successful or available.
