About the role
Reporting to the Senior Director International Tax, the Senior Manager Indirect Taxes has the full ownership of the indirect tax strategy, compliance and controversy management across multiple jurisdictions. This role will own VAT/GST/Consumption Tax and similar indirect taxes governance, drive automation and risk controls, and partner closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Technology teams to enable compliant and efficient growth. The successful candidate will be an expert in EU VAT and other major regimes, with strong experience on complex cross‑border supply chains. MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Act as the primary subject matter expert for internal stakeholders, leading the indirect tax strategy and compliance. Advise on supply-chains and other commercial transactions. Define, develop and update global indirect tax guidelines, design and standardize end-to-end indirect tax processes and control. Oversee Indirect Taxes flows, process and compliance, managing associated risks Manage relationships with the tax authorities and external providers. Lead indirect tax audit and resolve issues effectively. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal partners and peers. Collaborate effectively with the tax team and especially with the Tax COE. Train internal stakeholders on indirect taxes matters and collaborate across the organization to support decision-making and alignment. Drive improvements across systems, processes and governance. Monitor and stay ahead of tax developments and advise on risk and opportunity.
Requirements
- You are an indirect tax professional with 7 to 10 years proven experience in a similar role in a multinational or a large company environment or equivalent.
- You have an excellent understanding of indirect taxes and especially EU VAT rules (exemptions, triangulation, chain transactions, fixed establishment, place of supply) and cross-border indirect taxes principles.
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & COMPETENCIES :
- In depth knowledge of global indirect tax regulatory trends and digitalization requirements
- Able to understand and support the design of processes and controls to manage compliance obligations and risks associated with large volume of data.
- Take ownership of complex matters and be able to solve problems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex tax matters to senior leadership and external stakeholders with clarity and influence.
- Fluency in English with a strong ability to navigate and advise on tax matters in cross-border contexts.
- Collaborative and solution-driven working style with a proactive mindset.
- Open and adaptable attitude, embracing diverse challenges in a supportive and dynamic environment. .
- Strong analytical mindset with a structure and details-oriented approach.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP, IFRS) and corporate accounting policies and procedures.
