Responsibilities

• Coordinates and actively participates in the development and design of new and enhanced systems and processes within the assigned area(s).
• Manages and/or reviews and evaluates quarterly financial results and analyzes trends to ensure accurate reporting, integrity of data and to avoid fines and penalties.
• Leads financial pre-close and close discussions. Responsible for maintaining close task management and tracking through workflow tool to help achieve close and reporting deadlines.
• Ensures timely initiation of high dollar amounts of related tax and fee payments as required by the state and federal laws, regulations and instructions.

This role is responsible for leading key financial statement preparation activities and managing internal business partner relationships, including, but not limited to, the following: P&C Audited Reports for GAAP and STAT, including Enterprise Consolidated, Mutual Stat Consolidated, Titan, and E-Risk GAAP to Stat walks, Fortune reporting, surveys, and regulatory reporting, including GCC P&C Segment GAAP analytics and quarterly reporting Additionally, this role has indirect people leadership and will help lead two Specialists on the team. It will lead continuous improvement opportunities within reporting and provide ongoing ad hoc support for leadership and business partner requests. Target Skills/Qualifications: Strong self-starter with a high degree of organizational skills Focus on continuous improvement and new technology capabilities Strong problem-solving skills, and an analytic mindset Ability to quickly adapt Understanding of technical accounting principles Familiarity with GAAP and statutory reporting requirements and processes Ability to comfortably utilize Essbase, PeopleSoft and OACS are preferred.
