Responsibilities
- Dry Lab Support
- Prepare media/buffers/solutions accurately.
- Coordinate inventory management and procurement for site consumables.
- Maintain accurate records of site chemical, including the usage of hazardous and regulated chemical, as well as vaccine and antigen inventory.
- Manage incoming / outgoing shipping administrative procedures.
- Clean and autoclave labware and perform daily bio-waste autoclaving.
- Monitor expiry dates and ensure proper segregation, documentation, and disposal of chemical and biological waste.
- Maintain all apparatus and equipment assigned to the role.
- Perform quality checks on media and solutions when required.
- Conduct regular checks of expiry dates for chemical, consumables, media, reagents, vaccine and antigens.
- Support general activities to ensure smooth laboratory operations.
- Author and update SOPs and equipment maintenance records.
- Record and analyse all data and activities related to experiment in lab journal.
- Suggest improvements and updates to current procedures when needed.
- Identify and report safety issues, deviations in procedures, and equipment malfunctions.
- Work in accordance with GLP standards, SOPs, biosafety requirements, work safety, and quality standards.
- Wet Lab Support
- Support wet lab activities as needed, including weekend / public holiday rotation shifts on an ad hoc basis.
- Monitor tanks, top up water, feed, collect mortality, and update registration forms.
- WHAT YOU MUST HAVE
- To be successful in this role you should possess a diploma (or equivalent work experience) in Biology, Science, Aquaculture and related fields.
