About the role
Under the direction of the IT Manager, Child Start's IT Specialist is responsible, as the first line of support, for the organization's information technology systems. Including computers, printers, hardware, software and data by installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and updating system to provide technical support to users, by assisting staff inside of the documented process and procedures where provided. Provides telephone, online and in-person to staff with regards to software, hardware, phones issues. Troubleshoots problems with computer system, primarily to include hardware and software, printers, and other peripheral equipment making repairs and corrections where required. Installs, assembles and configurations computers, monitors and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware. Installs, configures, and upgrades operating systems and software and patches per process and as required. Assists in maintaining the e-mail configuration, anti-virus systems and online administration systems. Connects users to the network and provides initial training. Maintains day to day systems operations: Maintains current list of active help tickets and monitors progress on each issue. Keeps supplies and equipment organized and stored in secure location. Perform routine set-up, trouble shooting, and training on phone system(s). Maintains security system hardware and software and ensures functionality. Maintaining accurate documentation of system configurations, network diagrams, troubleshooting procedures, and user guides. Maintains listing/inventory of current IT equipment. Some college or Associate Degree and/or specialized training or certification. Requires one to three years of related experience. Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures. Child Start's IT Specialist position is $22.03 per hour.
