About the role
You aren't just crunching numbers; you're the navigator of our financial North Star. As our Senior FP&A Manager , you possess a rare blend of high-level fiscal strategy and the technical chops to build the engines that power it. Your mission is to translate our wild ambitions into sustainable financial models, ensuring that as we grow, we stay profitable, agile, and ready for whatever the global economy throws at us. You'll be a direct report to the CFO and a key advisor to the leadership team, working across every department to keep our financial health running smoother than a jazz saxophonist on a Friday night.
Responsibilities
- Own long-range financial planning, building dynamic models that turn "what if?" into clear, actionable decisions
- Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Ops to evaluate ideas, pressure-test assumptions, and clarify true ROI
- Lead budgeting and forecasting with rigor and clarity, maintaining an accurate, no-surprises view of performance
- Dive deep into financials and KPIs, connecting the dots and telling the story behind the numbers to drive decisions
- Build and refine dashboards, reporting tools, and models that provide real-time visibility into performance
- Partner with Finance and Ops leadership to manage cash, optimize OpEx, and ensure disciplined, efficient growth
- Lead financial evaluation of new product categories, channel expansions, and strategic initiatives to prioritize investment
- Model and respond to macroeconomic shifts (tariffs, inflation, FX) to keep the business agile
- Develop a deep understanding of cost structure, identifying opportunities to improve margins through vendor negotiations, logistics optimization, and pricing insights
- Role requirements
- 5 years of experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, or Investment Banking. Experience in high-growth consumer goods or e-commerce is a plus.
- You possess excellent communication skills with the uncanny ability to explain complex financial engineering to "normal humans" without making their eyes glaze over.
- Highly proficient in excel and building automated financial models. If a process is manual, you feel a physical need to automate it and you're not afraid to have AI help you do it.
- A true appreciation for the elegance of a perfectly balanced sheet and the intellectual curiosity to dig into why a decimal point moved.
- Advanced experience with NetSuite (or similar ERPs)
- A keen eye for macroeconomic trends and the grit to tell us when a project doesn't make financial sense (even if the CEO really wants it)
Requirements
- Experience working closely with hardware, manufacturing, or supply chain teams (inventory planning, COGS modeling, landed cost analysis)
- Familiarity with global logistics, tariffs, and demand planning in a physical product business
- Experience modeling and optimizing unit economics across owned channels (Shopify, Amazon, retail partners)
- Experience evaluating pricing, promotions, and product lifecycle profitability
- Genuine enthusiasm for design, photography, travel, or the outdoors
- Someone who enjoys being in-office, collaborating, and contributing to a strong team culture
- A day in the life:
- Grab a coffee from our favorite coffeeshop downstairs and head up to our beautiful, sunny HQ in the Dogpatch. Catch up with coworkers in the kitchen where any number of fresh baked goods or treats wait to tickle your tastebuds.
- You'll start by reviewing the latest revenue and spend reports. Does the burn match the plan? Are we seeing margin compression in specific channels?
