You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER in the OPERATRIONS DEPARTMENT of NAVBASE VENTURA COUNTY SEC. Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You must graduate from a police academy, specifically the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP). If you have not graduated from this specific academy prior to this application, the employer will assign the dates and location for you to attend. Upon completion of FLETC, you must sign an agreement to obligate three years of service as a Police Officer (series 0083) with Department of the Navy. Maintains proficiency for response to: installation perimeter breeches, hostage situations, vehicle borne improvised explosive device (IED), waterborne (IED) and pedestrian borne improvised explosive attacks, active shooter incidents, bomb threats, counter unmanned systems, suspicious packages and other terrorist threats, natural disasters, civil disturbances, and a myriad of law enforcement responses.
