About the role

VOIG is organized into six operational units: the Immediate Office of the Inspector General, Office of the Counselor, Office of Audits and Evaluations, Office of Healthcare Inspections, Office of Investigations, and Office of Management and Administration. In addition to the Washington, DC, headquarters, OIG has offices located in more than 60 locations throughout the country. You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience for the GS-12, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Performing computer programming using analytics software for working with large data files; AND Conducting qualitative and quantitative data analysis to generate findings for stakeholders; AND Applying automated data processing standards and techniques, such as data validation, documentation, program testing, or programming procedures; AND Provisioning, deploying, or utilizing Azure cloud assets, such as Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, etc. Specialized Experience for the GS-11, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Performing computer programming using analytics software to process data files; AND Applying data processing standards and techniques such as: data validation, project documentation, program testing, or programming procedures; AND Provisioning, deploying, or utilizing Azure cloud assets, such as Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, etc. Specialized Experience for the GS-09, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Performing computer programming using analytics software to process data files; AND Utilizing Azure cloud assets such as Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks, etc. In addition to meeting specialized experience, at the GS-12 level, individuals must have experience demonstrating each of the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Decision Making, Information Management, Interpersonal Skills, Oral Communication, Problem Solving, Teamwork, and Technical Competence. In addition to meeting specialized experience, at the GS-11 level, individuals must have experience demonstrating each of the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Interpersonal Skills, Problem Solving, Teamwork, and Technical Competence. In addition to meeting specialized experience, at the GS-9 level, individuals must have experience demonstrating each of the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Interpersonal Skills, Reasoning, and Teamwork. For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-9 level for 52 weeks. For the GS-9, you must have been at the GS-7 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a nontemporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
