Responsibilities

- Prepare analysis to "true up" income tax returns with year-end tax accounting entries
- Prepare tax research on specific federal and state income tax issues
- Keep up to date on relevant U.S. and Canadian tax compliance legal and procedural developments
- Support other tax compliance and projects, as required
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of tax financial reporting submissions
- Prepare accurate and timely tax accounting submissions
- Prepare tax reporting packages and entries for various entities for the submission of the following: Budgets, latest estimates and quarterly reporting
- Complete supporting documentation in compliance of SOX procedures
- Ensure accurate calculation and timely payment of federal, state, provincial and GST estimated tax payments
- Support indirect tax compliance as required (ie., sales and use tax, beverage tax, Canadian GST, and other non-income tax)
- Ensure business changes and impact on transfer pricing are timely considered and properly executed including intercompany agreements, recharges amongst legal entities and other supporting documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- CPA or MST preferred
- Big 4 accounting firm experience or comparable preferred
- Experience with IRC Sec 263A Uniform Capitalization Rules, and foreign tax credit preferred
- 2+ years of experience with federal and state income tax compliance
- Strong tax technical skills and working knowledge of U.S. transfer pricing regulations
- Working knowledge of US GAAP financial reporting, deferred tax accounting, valuation allowances, etc.
- Working knowledge of SAP with the ability to retrieve account balances and journal entries
- Fluency in Spanish an asset
