About us The Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences (NMES) is a vibrant faculty based in the heart of London with a long tradition of world-leading research and teaching in physics, mathematics, chemistry, informatics and engineering. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an exceptional technical manager to lead a large, multi-function technical services team delivering education, research and technical operations in the Department of Engineering. About the role Reporting to the Head of Technical Services and working closely with the Head of Department and key academic and Professional Services stakeholders, the Senior Technical Manager (Operations) will support the department's rapidly expanding research and education portfolios. The role holder will oversee the operational management of a large (>3k sqm) multidisciplinary laboratory and workshop facilities footprint at the Strand Campus spanning robotics, telecoms, materials, fabrication, mechanical and electrical/electronic engineering. They will play a leading role in strategic space, resources and workforce planning; lead on significant (£1m+) estates projects; and play a key role supporting the development and delivery of the department's future education offering. The post holder will be an ambitious technical manager with operational expertise in engineering and/or the physical sciences, and a seasoned team leader. They will be an effective communicator with the ability to build networks and influence at all levels, working with the Head of Technical Services and the faculty's Technical Services Management Team to deliver an agile, effective and efficient faculty technical services function. This is a full time (35 hours per week) post, offered on an indefinite contract. £53,947 to £63,350 per annum, including London Weighting Allowance
