Role Purpose: NBCUniversal is seeking a Contracts Specialist to join the legal team that supports all aspects of original unscripted content production and licensing for NBC, Peacock, and Bravo and Universal Television Alternative Studio (UTAS). Working closely with the attorneys and administrative staff, the contracts specialist will provide support and assistance to the group's legal counsel on a wide range of matters relating to the drafting, negotiation and oversight of production services, license and indemnity agreements, insurance, talent contracts, and production policies. Successful candidates will be attentive and detail oriented, and possess strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively. Here you can: Independently draft and review various form agreements and correspondence, for a range of contractual matters and clients Research, draft, and prepare memorandum and summaries on various contractual and legal provisions, rights and intellectual property matters Partner with business executives and colleagues on cross-functional teams to act as a resource to others in the company, on matters relating to the division Identify opportunities for increased efficiencies and collaboration within the division's business and legal affairs teams Develop policies, procedures, and best practices across the divisions Implement improvements to forms and processes Maintain and update internal resources and document workspaces Here you'll need: 2+ years of experience, preferably with experience in business affairs and/or legal affairs department at a major studio or production company Extensive experience in contract management, data entry and document assembly Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Excel, and Word) and experience in document management applications Desired Characteristics: Strong academic credentials, including Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate An understanding of, and demonstrated familiarity with, the contracting practices related to the entertainment industry and intellectual property Database and contract management experience Familiarity with AI-assisted technology and experience using AI tools to improve efficiency and streamline contract workflows. Ability to exercise discretion with sensitive information Flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple, wide-ranging matters, conflicting deadlines, and new areas of expertise as business needs change Outstanding analytic, communication and organizational skills, including excellent drafting and negotiation skills and an attention to detail Ability to effectively and concisely communicate with constituencies both inside and outside the legal function Ability to work independently based on general guidance and experience Ability to handle multiple simultaneous assignments in a fast-paced environment Possess a proactive, collaborative, and team-oriented approach Hybrid : This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.
