About the role
You will serve as a DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES SPECIALIST in the SUPPLY MATERIAL SUPPORT DIVISION, SUPPLY DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: GS-11 *Experience working with production to positively verify status, destination, and storage needs of all rip-out material. *Experience ensuring all materials is adequately and promptly tagged with a material control tag per local requirements *Experience orchestrating routing of rip-out and carcass material to material envelope or long-term storage. *Experience monitoring and controlling project laydown areas on the deck-plate. *Experience working closely with lifting and handling operations to understand schedule and requirements of lifts. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: GS-09 *Experience owning and maintaining accurate rip-out logbook or equivalent tracking system for both short term and long-term storage items. *Experience coordinating with project management and engineering as required to resolve material rip-out and material escalation issues. *Experience using practical knowledge of a wide range of well established and commonly applied principles, concepts, and methodologies in multiple technical supply specializations of inventory, packaging, and storing/distributing. *Experience planning, evaluating, and selecting appropriate sites and facilities for storing shipboard equipment. *Experience determining the suitability and usefulness of existing storage sites and facilities including both covered and open storage areas.
