Job Description: Transfusion Medicine Medical Director Department of Pathology/Division of Laboratory and Transfusion Medicine Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) Harvard Medical School (HMS) The Department of Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is recruiting for a full- time academic Transfusion Medicine physician. Both recent fellowship graduates and mid-career/senior physicians are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be appointed to the full-time faculty of Harvard Medical School at an academic rank (Instructor, Assistant Professor or Professor) commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will join three full-time transfusion medicine physicians, managing a comprehensive transfusion medicine service which supports active clinical programs in transplantation (bone marrow and solid organ), general hematology and oncology, cardiovascular surgery, obstetrics and neonatology. In addition to sharing clinical and administrative service responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in our pathology training programs and to develop a strong program in translational research. As a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, BIDMC and the Department of Pathology, provide a clinically advanced and supportive academic environment for residents, fellows, and faculty. We're also proud and excited to be an integral part of the landmark collaboration among Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) to establish New England's only freestanding adult inpatient cancer hospital.
