D&T Delivery Lead - R&D

Responsibilities

• Programme Delivery & Execution
• Lead the end-to-end delivery of R&D programmes , ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
• Manage complex, cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple stakeholders and technology domains
• Ensure alignment to R&D strategy, innovation priorities, and regulatory requirements
• Governance & Delivery Frameworks
• Establish and operate governance structures aligned to enterprise delivery frameworks
• Ensure clear oversight of performance, delivery status, and risks
• Drive structured decision-making, escalation, and accountability across programmes
• Risk, Issue & Compliance Management
• Identify , track, and manage delivery risks and issues, ensuring mitigation and escalation
• Embed strong risk and compliance discipline across R&D programmes
• Ensure adherence to regulatory, quality, and internal control requirements
• Financial & Vendor Management
• Manage programme budgets, including forecasting, cost control, and reporting
• Ensure effective commercial management of strategic vendors and partners
• Align financial tracking with delivery progress and programme outcomes
• Stakeholder Engagement & Alignme nt
• Build strong relationships with R&D leadership, D&T teams, and business stakeholders
• Provide clear communication and reporting to senior stakeholders
• Surface dependencies, trade-offs, and risks to support informed decision-making
• Delivery Excellence & Capability Building
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of delivery methodologies, tools, and standards
• Promote best practices across R&D programme delivery
• Support capability development and knowledge sharing across the Delivery community
• Your profile
• Required:
• Proven experience delivering complex Digital, Technology, or R&D / product development programmes
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and driving project success
• Experience managing changes within large, matrixed organisations with multiple stakeholders
• Understanding of digital and technology landscapes, including R&D, innovation, or product lifecycle environments
• Ability to operate in fast-paced, innovation-driven environments with competing priorities
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies
• Preferred:
• Experience delivering R&D or product development transformation programmes
• Stakeholder management and influencing skills, including senior leadership exposure
• Ability to translate operational or technical topics into clear business language
• Proficiency in using data analytics to inform decision-making and measure project success, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
• Experience managing third-party vendors and complex delivery ecosystems
• Relevant certifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, Agile)

The role is responsible for structuring, governing, and delivering complex R&D and product development technology initiatives across multiple teams, platforms, and business stakeholders. It ensures that programmes are delivered efficiently and in line with enterprise standards, while balancing innovation priorities, regulatory requirements, and business needs. The role partners closely with R&D leaders, D&T teams, strategic vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure delivery of critical R&D capabilities and transformation programmes . It plays a central role in ensuring that R&D initiatives deliver expected innovation, compliance, and business outcomes.
