About the role
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICE, NON-NUCLEAR INSPECTION DIVISION, NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST (NDT) BRANCH of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Must be certified as NDT supervisor in three basic types of methods by written and oral examinations and performance tests every 3 years and sufficiently knowledgeable in all NDT inspection methods to insure proper use and dissemination of process instructions, procedures, and equipment. Experience investigating, reviewing, managing, advising, and taking appropriate corrective actions on multiple and varied functions; Experience analyzing and evaluating manpower resources, work operations, equipment, and facilities against current and future scheduled work requirements; Experience developing plans, policies, and procedures as they relate to nuclear submarine overhaul and repair; Experience organizing and supervising on-the-job training programs, evaluating results of training, and make recommendations for additional training need; Experience ensuring testing equipment and other facilities necessary for inspection work are available and in compliance with specification requirements prior to use.
