Job Summary As a member of the UBC Office of Wellbeing Strategy (OWS), the Wellbeing in Learning Environments Project Coordinator contributes to the goals of the OWS and partner staff units through Wellbeing in Learning Environments projects and initiatives. This position is critical to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of health and wellbeing initiatives. The role will work closely with the Wellbeing Strategic Initiatives Project Manager to support UBC in embed wellbeing in learning environments to enhance student and instructor wellbeing. The project coordinator is guided by the Okanagan Charter: An International Charter for Health Promoting Universities & Colleges and UBC's Wellbeing Strategic Framework within the context of the University's Strategic Plan. Organizational Status Reporting to the Wellbeing Strategic Initiatives Project Manager, Office of Wellbeing Strategy, and works in close collaboration with faculty members, the VP Students portfolio, in particular the Health Equity, Promotion, and Education unit; VP Human Resources, in particular the Workplace Wellbeing unit; and Health and Wellness on the UBC Okanagan Campus. This position may supervise student staff involved in projects Work Performed This position will advance various Wellbeing in Learning Environments priorities, including some that will be determined and prioritized with further engagement with academic units and faculty members. Working independently as part of the Wellbeing in Learning Environments team, the project coordinator influences decision-making to move projects forward and manages project plans and timelines. Key duties may include: Research, Engagement and Scoping: Conduct research and scoping of targeted health promotion initiatives, including literature reviews and environmental scans, with a focus on synthesizing findings and developing actionable recommendations. Plan, facilitate, summarize and draft recommendations from dialogue sessions, committees and/or focus groups alongside staff and faculty partners. Review and interpret data and communicating findings and recommendations through reports and/or presentations. Managing Projects: Lead projects as part of the Wellbeing in Learning Environments plan in collaboration with staff units and academic departments e.g., the Faculty Wellbeing Champions recognition event . Create and update content for Wellbeing in Learning Environments website including faculty wellbeing stories/profiles, events and workshops, and develop and deliver content for educational sessions. Conducts planning for faculty members and staff within the Teaching and Wellbeing Community of Practice, including membership expansion, engagement and project implementation. Develops, implements and evaluates new programs and projects within the WLE portfolio and plan, paying attention to the local context and needs of the institution. Collaboration and Partnership Building: Develops positive and collaborative working relationships with professional staff, instructors, student staff, and student leaders regarding the development of events, activities, and projects. Reporting and Evaluation: Develops inspirational storytelling initiatives of promising practices supporting wellbeing in learning environments. Plans and implements evaluation methods for projects by drafting data collection tools, coordinating data collection and analysis, and writing summary reports. Gathers data and identifies key findings for reporting to UBC leadership including, but not limited to, Student Health and Wellbeing; Health, Wellbeing and Benefits; and for other associated UBC reports (e.g. Wellbeing Annual Report, Annual Sustainability Report).
