About the role

This Trust is seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Consultant in Respiratory Medicine to join our expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing department with access to advanced respiratory diagnostics and procedures, including EBUS, thoracoscopy, and strong support for ILD, pleural, and sleep/ventilation services. Requirements

  • Full registration and licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Respiratory and General Internal Medicine (or within 6 months of interview)
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications and Fellowship of a Royal College (e.g., FRCP)
  • Subspecialty interest in sleep/ventilation, lung cancer, or interventional respiratory medicine is desirable
  • Typical Job Plan and Duties
  • A standard job plan includes:
  • Providing high-quality care in respiratory medicine and general internal medicine
  • Participating in outpatient clinics, inpatient care, and multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Engaging in medical teaching, training, and appraisal of junior staff
  • Contributing to clinical governance, audit, and service development
  • Participating in annual appraisal, job planning, and revalidation
  • Supporting the development of respiratory services across the Trust

  • Services include interventional bronchoscopy (EBUS, thoracoscopy), sleep and ventilation, ILD, and pleural disease

  • No acute medicine ward rounds; light 1:6 weekend rota
