POSITION SUMMARY The Director, TRIO Programs serves as the principal operational and strategic leader for College's TRIO initiatives within the Center for Multicultural Access and Success (CMAS) and as a primary partner to the Dean of Multicultural Access and Success. This position provides comprehensive leadership for TRIO Programs, including Student Support Services (SSS) and Educational Talent Search (ETS), and serves as the liaison between CMAS, TRIO, and Joliet Junior College administrators, faculty, public school district partners, students, parents, and community stakeholders. The Director is responsible for ensuring that the programs meet established goals, institutional objectives, and federal guidelines. This includes oversight of program development, implementation, and continuous improvement, management of daily operations, supervision, and evaluation of professional and support staff, budget planning, Provide leadership, supervision, and direction to the TRIO departments within the Center for Multicultural Access and Success. With broad authority over personnel, budgets, grants and compliance, the Director ensures alignment with college-wide goals, regulatory requirements and best practices in student success and equity work. Serving as a strategic partner to the Dean, the Director contributes to strategic and operational planning and decision-making, organizational development, and resource stewardship and may represent the Center and the College in internal and external partnerships. The Director is accountable for measurable outcomes related to student success, campus climate, and program effectiveness, and uses data-informed practices to drive impact, sustainability, and institutional change. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Provide leadership and supervision for TRIO Programs within the Center for Multicultural Access and Success, and in collaboration with the Dean to facilitate short and long-range planning, program development, and assessment that supports student success outcomes which align with the mission, vision, and strategic goals of Joliet Junior College to the Centers, Managers, Coordinators, Success Coaches, and staff. 2. Responsible for TRIO grants administration, supervision of grant staff, federal compliance mandates, student file compliance and reporting required to achieve and report the goals and objectives outlined in each grant; and budget oversight for federal TRIO grants awarded. 3. Responsible for representing the College's commitment to TRIO programs and services by communicating and advocating programs/services available which support the campus community, current and future TRIO students, and other stakeholders. 4. Effectively manage the program by ensuring that the TRIO Programs meets all grant obligations by developing comprehensive assessment and student tracking tools for reporting outcomes for the U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of Labor. 5. Provide supervision and guidance for direct academic support services to Student Support Services and Educational Talent Search participants and supervise participants at activities, cultural events, and cultural trips. Responsible for all grant management, reporting, and compliance issues to provide accountability and standards for federal funding. 6. Foster a collegial collaborative relationship with internal and external stakeholders including college representatives, entities of the federal government (Department of Education and Labor), district high schools and community agencies. 7. Document the progress of TRIO Programs in achieving its funded objectives by coordination and evaluation of the project. 8. Responsible for developing a knowledgeable and skilled TRIO staff by recruiting, selecting, training, supervising, and evaluating staff members in compliance with the College's established Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity policies. 9. Effectively supervise the intake process to facilitate quality support services for diverse students. Analyze and distribute usage and learning outcomes data generated by TRIO; prepare regular reports (monthly and annually) related to programs, services, accomplishments and concerns 10.
