About the role
Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 536192), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in a biomedical related discipline and be highly motivated in teaching and learning, with at least 3 years of demonstrated experience and excellence in the teaching of biochemistry / biomedical sciences/ physiology related disciplines for medical, nursing, pharmacy, biochemistry and biomedical sciences undergraduate programmes. Experience in teaching of interdisciplinary core curriculum courses would be an advantage. Applicants should also have strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to work independently and as a team; and be able to multi-task. The appointee will be responsible for teaching, conducting tutorials and demonstrations, supporting curriculum design, and developing teaching materials, etc. He/She will work closely with a team of colleagues dedicated to the development and delivery of innovative pedagogical approaches to improve student learning across several undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
