The Manufacturing Engineer II is a proactive, hands on role responsible for sustaining, improving, and independently driving manufacturing performance within the Kingston, NY division of JBT Marel. As a core contributor to the Relentless Continuous Improvement (RCI) team, this role is responsible for leading technical initiatives, integrating cross functional stakeholders, and executing process, cost, and productivity improvements with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate is a skillful negotiator and demonstrates strong problem solving skills with the ability to pivot quickly in a dynamic manufacturing environment. They also possess the judgment to deliver practical, cost effective solutions that support sustainable growth. As our Manufacturing Engineer- you will report to the Manager, RCI. On a given day, you may: Translate product engineering designs into production‑ready manufacturing processes by developing fixtures, SOPs, BOMs, and routings; managing ECNs/ECRs; and maintaining optimized router times within the MRP system. Provide diagnostic/troubleshooting support for operations. Integrate new product lines into the Kingston facility, introducing new manufacturing processes and adapting engineering BOMs to align with site‑specific production capabilities Use lean tools (5-Why, A3, VAVE, DFM) to lead basic cross functional problem-solving exercises. Drive results into operational improvements, including cost reductions, waste reduction (JDI's), facility layout/flow/5S optimization to reduce material, labor, and overhead costs Drive implementation of mini CAPEX projects (≤ $75K), ensuring delivery on scope, cost, timeline, and operational performance Perform incoming inspection of completed manufacturing and outsourced vendor components in absence of QC resource. Support purchasing in the selection process for outside vendors of fabricated components. Requirements for the role BS in Engineering/Technology and 5-8 years of relevant manufacturing experience. Proficient in SolidWorks or similar CAD tools with applied knowledge of GD&T and hands‑on use of inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gages). Demonstrated capability in data‑driven problem solving, including application of lean tools (5‑Why, root cause, waste/cost reduction initiatives). Self‑directed and organized, with sound decision‑making. Proficient in Microsoft tools (Excel, Teams). Familiarity with part/assembly cost estimating and job routing/operations development Work experience in manufacturing environment including metal fabrication and assembly Previous experience utilizing Power BI or similar data extraction equivalent Previous experience utilizing Syteline 9 ERP System or Infor products You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
