About this role Team Overview Our Global Corporate Actions team has primary operating centers in Edinburgh (UK), Wilmington, Delaware (US), Gurgaon (India ) and Singapore (APAC). Our objective is to lead and provide a high-quality Corporate Action service assuring standard methodology through the application of governance and controls designed to mitigate risk to the Firm and our Clients. Our team operates as a single, global entity designed around a robust and mature "pass-the-book" philosophy allowing the effective and controlled transition of workload across our primary locations. Role Responsibility As a Vice President in Corporate Actions, the candidate will be based in our Wilmington, Delaware location. Reporting to the US Regional Corporate Actions Head, a successful candidate will play a pivotal role in engaging with the global management team. The position will have direct responsibility for the Entitlements team and provide multi-functional support to all other organizations within Corporate Actions. The team's primary function is to ensure that all event-related corporate action activity within BlackRock is validated and the subsequent cash or stock entitlements are processed accurately and timely . Through daily team huddles, dashboard reporting, and risk management tools, the individual will supervise and strengthen all corporate action events' tracking and execution. You will lead processing and technology improvement efforts to drive efficiencies and increase STP within the business unit. The role requires focused interaction with other operational teams and partners to manage Corporate Action activity impacted by trade settlement, REPOs, and securities lending. You will be responsible for building strategic relationships with BlackRock's partners and clients at a senior level and will need vision, energy, and passion to optimize the operational platform and successfully deliver results to our clients. Key responsibilities include: Acquire a strong understanding of the processes and controls of the team and provide management and oversight of daily production activity. Manage the escalation of operational issues to ensure risk is controlled, and communication to affected parties and senior leaders is completed timely . Investigate reconciliation discrepancies, ensuring all differences are resolved and cleared at the earliest opportunity. Develop and implement comprehensive reporting tools and metrics that ensure compliance with standard departmental methodologies and hold BlackRock's service providers and custodians accountable for their product's quality and delivery. Build and maintain constructive relationships with key internal and external contacts and partners. Drive local, regional, and global initiatives and projects. Provide regional management support and coverage for functional teams as required . Maintain awareness of industry changes and how they impact Corporate Actions, Global Investment Operations and BlackRock. Develop automation and efficiency initiatives to provide a scalable platform and reduce risk in our business. Develop team performance to ensure adherence to organization and individual objectives .
