The Line Producer will be responsible for the business end of the production, working closely with writers, producers, directors and cast. Primary job duties and responsibilities will be to: - Prepare production schedule and budget - Produce a provisional budget to show the total amount of funding required - Help set up the production office - Coordinate location scouting, sourcing equipment and suppliers - Hire the production team - Manage insurance claims - Ultimately responsible for ensuring the production is completed on time and within budget with financial monitoring systems and by controlling production expenditure and materials. Qualifications and competencies include: - Bachelor degree in Finance, Media, Accounting or a related field - At least 5 years' experience in scheduling and budgeting - At least 3 years' experience in assistant direction, location management and/or in a production office - In-depth knowledge of filmmaking processes - Ability to balance creative expectations with financial resources - Understanding of relevant health and safety laws and procedures - Industry contacts will be an asset - Exceptional communication skills - Diplomacy and negotiation skills
