Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Superintendent or Superintendent in managing on‑site work to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Monitor work performance to ensure project rules and procedures are followed.
  • Advise the General Superintendent or Superintendent of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties, and help resolve them.

  • Apply and enforce the Project Specific Safety Program and ensure compliance with HS&E standards, OH&S Acts, regulations, and codes.
  • Oversee accurate project reporting, including site progress, events, and inspections.
  • Meet with consultants, trades, and other stakeholders professionally, communicating concerns and representing the company's best interests.
  • Post secondary education in Construction Management/or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Minimum 5+ of civil construction experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, general foreman or similar role.
  • Proficient knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control and engineering drawings.
  • Experience in civil works, (Concrete pours, falsework, formwork, waterproofing, rebar, etc.) concrete works and SOE is an asset.
  • Ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes, produce workable solutions and lead a large team to successful completion.
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Leadership skills and experience supervising trades, contractors and other personnel.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling, project management, and Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

Additional Information

The Assistant Superintendent supports the General Superintendent or Superintendent in coordinating daily on‑site construction activities, ensuring the project runs safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans and specifications. This role supports managing scheduling, manpower, materials, and subcontractors while maintaining site documentation and assisting in resolving on‑site issues to keep the project on track. This is an overnight position working Monday to Friday, 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM (EDT). The salary range for this position is $140,000 CAD - $180,000 CAD, plus additional benefits.
