We're looking for a Shift Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and who is passionate about both animal wellbeing and contributing to a positive, inclusive workplace. If you're ready to play a key role in keeping our hospital running smoothly while supporting the clinicians, technicians, students, and beloved pets who rely on us, we'd love to meet you. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintaining the cleanliness of our Companion Animal Hospital which includes dust mopping and mopping daily, as well as stripping, waxing and polishing as needed. Cleaning and disinfecting all areas throughout shift, which includes exam rooms between clients, trash removal, and removal and disposal of bio hazardous wastes. Walk patients outside and collect urine/fecal samples as needed. Record fecal/urine discharges, vomiting, appetite characteristics and overall appearance of the patient on treatment sheets. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year of experience in a farm or other animal handling environment. Knowledge of and ability to apply infection control practices Valid NYS driver's license and Forklift certification or ability to be certified Must be able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, demanding environment handling multiple tasks simultaneously, while paying close attention to details. Ability to adhere to all safety protocols and procedures. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position including being able to lift 50 lbs or more. Must demonstrate the ability, desire, and aptitude to train new staff. Demonstrated emotional intelligence and judgement skills.
