As a Maintenance Support Operative, your primary responsibility will be ensuring that our facilities remain fully functional. You will maintain buildings and equipment effectively while complying with all relevant Bupa Standard Operating Procedures, legislation, and industry best practices. Your role is crucial in ensuring our accommodation meets Bupa's cultural and brand values. You'll help us make health happen by: Ensuring that all health and safety and compliance checks are carried out using the provided digital systems as per the timescales directed by Bupa Standard Operating Procedures and by Bupa compliance management tools and software. Action and close any tasks attributed to the Maintenance Manager or home highlighted on Bupa compliance management tools and software. Ensure that safety and cleanliness within the care home and grounds is to the satisfaction of Environmental Health, local Fire Authority requirements, Legionella Risk Assessment requirements and Health & Safety regulations etc. Ensure that all necessary maintenance and repair tasks are completed to a high standard, in a timely manner and offer value for money whilst ensuring internal decoration continues to meet the organisations vision regarding first impressions. Ensure regular review of residents' preferences in relation to their personal space is documented and actioned. Report defects, obtain quotes and manage repairs using Bupa approved contractors, complying at all times with Bupa's Standard Operating Procedures. Report irreparable defects to Home Manager or Property/Maintenance Manager as appropriate. Ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained and safely secured at all times. Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role: A good understanding of building services Sound understanding of building fabric and its maintenance Practical experience of planned maintenance systems and record keeping Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and experience of compliance A full driving licence Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team Computer literate Good Customer service skills Be flexible to meet changing demands within the care home Practical ability and experience in painting and decorating
