About the role
You will serve as Chief, Technical Services Division (TPM-22), Office of Capital Project Management (TPM-20) in the Office of Program Management (TPM). Drawing on broad experiences in design, engineering and construction of capital projects, the incumbent is directly responsible for managing FTA's Project Management Oversight (PMO) Program, which is a consortium of contractors who support FTA with its oversight of major transit capital projects. To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must (1) meet the Education Requirement for the series, (2) provide a copy of transcripts for verification, AND (3) meet the education and specialized experience requirements. To qualify for the GS-15, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-14, it must include: Experience leading and managing professionals including developing strategic vision and work plans, reviewing staff's technical work products, assessing job performance, developing staff, and building consensus. Experience managing or administering multi-million-dollar professional services contracts including preparing statements of work and independent cost estimates, evaluating technical proposals, and monitoring and evaluating contractors' performance. Experience performing program analysis and business process improvements while resolving unexpected obstacles that may impact work programs and deliverables. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
