(HYBRID) This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Accounting function. This position will report to the Manufacturing Accounting Manager, North America. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: Perform monthly closing tasks as they relate to plant expenses and product costing Work closely with manufacturing teams to develop annual/ monthly budgets and forecasts in spend and/or production Report and analyze variances to manufacturing budgets and forecasts highlighting trends that need further review. Review and help to resolve aging, open accounts payable balances Participate in the process of calculating annual manufacturing overhead rates and product costs Analyze and reconcile various balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting work papers. Participate in internal and/or cross-functional process improvement projects to support various levels of the business Provide support to more than one manufacturing plant and assist Controllers as needed Support audit activities as deemed necessary Ensure compliance with applicable accounting SOX related matters In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following: BS/BA Degree in Finance related field (Accounting, Finance...etc). 1-5 years of experience in Financial Accounting Strong proficiency in MS Excel required Willingness to travel on infrequent basis Applicants must be able to work in the United States The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit : Experience in manufacturing environment preferred. Experience with sophisticated accounting systems and ability to learn new systems and processes - ERP experience required (SAP experience preferred) Experience with Microsoft Access and other Office programs; Power BI or similar tools a plus In more than 100 countries, the people of Ashland LLC.
