Responsibilities

  • Performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures.

Job Requisition ID: R00051045 Job Category: Allied Health Organization: MRI-Techs Location/s: Main Campus Jackson Job Title: MRI Technologist Job Summary: To operate and maintain a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner to obtain images on patients to diagnose the nature and extent of designated pathologies, while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Education & Experience Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: Medical Radiologic Technologist license from the Mississippi State Department of Health and Radiography (R) from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association required post-hire within 90 days. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required post-hire within twenty-four (24) months. J ob applications may be accepted for candidates that currently meet the minimum qualifications or candidates actively pursuing the certifications, licenses, or registration requirements who will meet all minimum requirements within three (3) months. Minimum qualifications must be satisfied prior to starting work. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of magnetic resonance imaging procedures and technology. Knowledge of specifications, standards, and tolerances for the operation of MRI equipment and facilities. Skill in the operation of magnetic resonance film processors and ancillary equipment. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality control standards. Ability to alleviate patient anxiety.
