Responsibilities

  • Drives operational efficiency by directing the nuclear pharmacy's adherence to the business unit's standard operating procedures. Implements operational changes cascaded from business unit leaders and shares local best practices with Regional Directors and other Managers, Nuclear Pharmacy.
  • Collaborates with Sales team to provide input into product commitments and pricing for customer agreements, within the pricing guidelines established by the business unit. Meets with customers to understand evolving needs.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Pharmacy, PharmD or Health Sciences preferred
  • Must be a licensed Pharmacist in Alabama and eligible for licensure in Mississippi and Tennessee, with requirements to gain licensure in Mississippi and Tennessee within 6 months of start of employment
  • Authorized user preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of previous supervisory experience in a health care or pharmaceutical environment preferred
  • Active AL state licensure, and nuclear certification preferred
  • Must be willing to obtain Tennessee state pharmacist licensure within 180 days of hire
  • Must be willing to obtain Mississippi state pharmacist licensure within 180 days of hire
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and resolve customer/employee problems or conflicts to meet the needs of external and internal customers
  • Ability to be innovative in troubleshooting clinical/bio-distribution problems
  • Must demonstrate effective writing and verbal proficiency in internal and external communications and documentation procedures; presentation skills
  • Ability to promote teamwork within pharmacy location and region by treating staff members with respect
  • Must fulfill a commitment to the professional ethics adopted by the pharmacy profession
  • Ability to plan and implement plans effectively; make effective and timely decisions; and effectively manage a budget and administrative functions
  • Ability to manage weight up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to travel to regional meetings and to customer sites as required
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and rotate schedules as required
  • Comfortable working in a nuclear environment required
  • Anticipated salary range: $121,600 - $191,070

What Nuclear Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers. Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines; may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy. Licensed. Job Summary The Manager, Nuclear Pharmacy oversees one of Cardinal Health's nuclear pharmacies to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations and timely, quality delivery of radiopharmaceuticals to customers. This job's successful management of the nuclear pharmacy drives the business units' operating margins and earnings. With expert knowledge of the local market, the Manager provides input into short- to mid-term commercial strategy and, through strong customer service and relationships, builds the foundation for the long-term growth of the business unit. Schedule Various schedule with a mix of days, nights, weekend, holiday, and on call work. While the Huntsville pharmacy does not currently open for weekends/holidays, future growth may demand this change. Additionally, you may be required to provide RPh relief coverage at the Birmingham or Tupelo pharmacies when needed.
