THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a PRIMARY PREVENTION SPECIALIST (PREV WF) (ACCELERATED HIRE), Position Description Number T0029P01 and is part of the HI JOINT STAFF, National Guard. LOCATION: Joint Staff, Hawaii Army National Guard, Honolulu, Hawaii If your resume does not include a narrative description of how you meet the GENERAL, SPECIALIZED experiences, and OTHER requirements, you may lose consideration for this position. Ensure that the Questionnaire is completed on Application Manager. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Degree: Behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least one year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources. Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. The incumbent of this position description must have at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment. 2. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. Head of Agency requests to exceed 14 days in a calendar year must be approved in advance by the National Guard, Director of Manpower and Personnel (NGB-J1). 3. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. *4. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. 5. May require travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments. 6. The work may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle; if so, and an appropriate valid driver's license is mandatory. OTHER Requirements For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. For all other positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. NOTES TO CANDIDATES: a. The agency is not authorized PCS expenses, but relocation incentives as described in 5 USC 5753 may be authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations. b. In addition to your application, documents of last performance appraisal, past civilian performance, letter of recommendations, and or military performance may be submitted. c. The applicant's resume package may include military service experiences and/or civilian experiences; military and/or civilian performance reports; training certificates; and official college transcripts. d. Include any volunteer work experience in your resume. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). e. Final selection will be based upon qualifications, suitability, and available manpower resources. f. This employer will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization. g.
